Think Tank Forum Shapes Future of Pakistan-China Partnership

The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), in collaboration with the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), convened the Fourth Pakistan-China Think Tank Forum to shape an actionable roadmap for future cooperation. Speakers at the event emphasized that CPEC Phase-II must prioritize industrialization, green development, technological advancement, agricultural modernization, and human resource development, all aligned with the 2025–29 Action Plan.

Officials and experts outlined five core pillars that continue to anchor the Pakistan-China partnership: political trust, strengthened economic collaboration, people-centered development, enhanced security cooperation, and joint efforts in multilateral forums. The forum also stressed the importance of synchronizing Pakistan’s development agenda with China’s Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative to expand long-term cooperation.

Participants further noted that milestones connected to upcoming diplomatic anniversaries can serve as catalysts for deepening bilateral ties. In various expert sessions, analysts reviewed regional geopolitical shifts, reaffirming the critical role of CPEC in boosting regional connectivity and sustainable economic progress. The meeting concluded with a commitment to expand think tank cooperation, reinforcing the shared vision of building an even closer “Community with a Shared Future.”
