Revolutionising Gwadar's Healthcare: The Pak-China Friendship Hospital

The Pak-China Friendship Hospital, currently under construction, is set to revolutionize healthcare in the bustling port city of Gwadar. With an estimated cost of $100 million, this cutting-edge medical facility is a testament to the strong partnership between Pakistan and China.

Funded by the Chinese government and overseen by the Balochistan government, this hospital spans an expansive 68 acres of land, housing six medical blocks, each accommodating 50 beds. Progress on the residential blocks is already at 20%, as reported by the Gwadar Port Authority.

The hospital project goes beyond just providing medical care. It encompasses plans for nursing and paramedical institutes, a medical college, a central laboratory, and various allied facilities. This comprehensive approach to healthcare reflects the dedication of both governments.

This ambitious endeavor is part of the Gwadar Development Authority's business plan and receives support from the Public Sector Development Project (PSDP) of the Federal government. Furthermore, a recent feasibility study by a Chinese team has proposed expanding the hospital's capacity to 300 beds, starting with an initial increase to 100 beds from the existing 50.
