The Chinese Consulate in Karachi has made a significant contribution to the Pak-China Friendship Hospital (PCFH) in Gwadar by donating vital health materials and medical consumables. The donated items include essential items such as Dettol, Povidone-Iodine, Alcohol Swabs, KN95 Masks, Disposable Face Masks, Safety Gloves, and Latex Gloves.
An official from the Chinese Consulate stated that this consignment not only provides necessary medical supplies to the people of Gwadar but also serves as a symbol of spiritual support and encouragement. It aims to boost the confidence of the local population and inspire them to actively participate in the region's development, contributing to a brighter future for Gwadar.
Nadir Ali Baloch, the Deputy Manager of Administration at PCFH, emphasized that such donations are crucial for sustaining the hospital’s efforts to provide free healthcare services to the people of Gwadar. The 100-bed hospital, which was inaugurated earlier this year, is already having a significant impact, serving around 3,000 patients daily from Gwadar and surrounding areas.
As part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative, the hospital features modern infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art building with both single- and multi-storey structures, as well as advanced medical technology, such as CT scanners, ultrasound machines, and a modern laboratory. The Chinese government generously funded the construction and medical equipment.
Some hospital facilities have been integrated with an existing 50-bed hospital in the city, which boosts the overall capacity to 150 beds. The new complex includes outpatient services, medical technology departments, and additional ward buildings, continuing to play a pivotal role in improving healthcare services for the community.
