Pak-China Hospital Treats 21,000 Patients in 7 Months

Over the past seven months, the Pak-China Friendship Hospital (PCFH) in Gwadar has delivered free medical services to over 21,000 patients, particularly benefiting women and children. The hospital has become a lifeline for residents by offering specialized care in gynaecology, orthopaedics, neurology, gastroenterology, cancer treatment, dentistry, paediatrics, diabetes, and hypertension. This initiative, hailed as a model public good program under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), provides state-of-the-art medical equipment, seamless services, and a 100% paperless environment to facilitate patients, especially from the illiterate coastal community.

Established with $100 million in funding under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), PCFH spans 68 acres with six dedicated blocks, including a medical block, a nursing block, and a medical college. Managed by the Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), the hospital is equipped with 150 beds and a fully functional OPD. Its Help Desk Initiative, launched in September, operates as a One Window Facility, assisting communities across Gwadar, Turbat, Jiwani, and beyond.

The hospital’s mammography services are advancing cancer care through screening, diagnostics, and specialized treatments. With its comprehensive healthcare solutions, PCFH has emerged as a cornerstone of accessible, quality medical care in the region, winning the trust and gratitude of the local population.
