Ahsan Iqbal Inaugurates Diagnostic Block at Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital

Federal Minister for Planning and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, recently visited the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Gwadar, operated by the Indus Hospital and Health Network, to inaugurate its newly constructed Diagnostic Block.

During his visit, Head of Campus Dr. Affan Faiqzada briefed the minister on the hospital’s operations, highlighting its daily service to approximately 1,100–1,200 patients. The facility offers free modern healthcare, including medicines, laboratory tests, radiology services, and complimentary meals for admitted patients.

Dr. Faiqzada also shared future plans for expansion, which include the establishment of a medical college, a nursing college, and multiple specialty departments to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality in the region.

Speaking at the event, Ahsan Iqbal underscored that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) vision goes beyond ports and highways, focusing equally on human development in sectors such as health and education. He described the GDA Pak-China Friendship Hospital as a tangible example of this broader vision.

The federal minister emphasized that the hospital has become a modern, reliable healthcare institution not only for Gwadar but for the entire Makran Division. He highlighted its role as a strong symbol of Pak-China friendship, cooperation, and public welfare, reflecting the positive impact of CPEC-related initiatives on human well-being.

Praising the hospital’s high-quality medical services, effective administration, and people-friendly approach, Ahsan Iqbal noted that providing world-class healthcare in a remote area like Gwadar is a remarkable achievement. He expressed hope that the hospital would continue to deliver services with the same commitment and standards in the future.
